The seed of Come Up Seven Clothing Company was planted in early 2009. Jonny Pockets, who was working as a graphic designer at the time, was having issues with a few unsavory assholes who were stealing his designs off the web and selling them as t-shirts. His business savvy friend of two decades, Mitch, approached him and suggested starting their own clothing company, rather than sit back and watch said assholes illegally do what they could be doing legitimately.

Jonny jumped at the opportunity, being that he had always wanted to start a company of his own, specifically one that worked as an outlet for creativity and social statements. Combined with Mitch’s business expertise, the two set off on their journey, confident they could create a brand and community that would represent their hometown of Portland, and reflect a lifestyle they mutually appreciated.

Come Up Seven represents the passions of Jonny and Mitch, and so many others. Design, motorcycles, fashion, community, cycling, solidarity, tattoos, art, music, and friendship.

The Come Up Seven blog went live in early May of 2009, and The Shop opened on July 12th, 2009.

As for the rest of the story… we’ll see.
